The Artistic Styles That Inspire Me To Create
Creepy, colorful, goblins, many eyes, teeth, erratic details. If I asked someone what type of art they liked and they told me that, I would probably look at them as a little strange. But wait, that’s me.
Creepy, colorful, goblins, many eyes, teeth, erratic details. If I asked someone what type of art they liked and they told me that, I would probably look at them as a little strange. But wait, that’s me. I’m not sure why I’m attracted to seemingly creepy art, just am. For now, I mostly look at and make art for the visual appeal. One day I’ll decide to actively dive deep into the deeper meanings behind art, but for now I’ll just sit and admire. Here are some of my favorite artists that not only fit this unusual taste of mine, but fill me with a deep inspiration to just create.
Takashi Murakami
I’ve always liked Takashi Murakami, specifically for his flowers and collabs with creators such as Billie Eilish. But only recently did I start diving deeper into looking more at his art. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that he would join traditional Japanese art along with modern art. I may look into doing the same but with West African art. I also love how he mixes creepy and “childlike”. I’ll always enjoy the eclectic colors he incorporates as well. I plan to go to one of his exhibits one day.

Kaleb Corbin
I came across Kaleb on TikTok. The first piece I saw was “Incubator” and I was instantly captivated. The colors and characters were absolutely INSANE. I especially liked his painting stroked and the way he made teeth. Seeing his paintings inspired me to paint even more.

UNKWNZJ
This artists vibes are unmatched. I’m in love with her multi-media art and the way she binds her doodles and paintings with real photos. The elements that drew me to her art were the shiny grills, pronounced eyes and bright colors. I can also see that she pulled inspiration from Takashi Murakami from the rainbow flowers that she puts around some of her characters eyes. On top of all this, she turned her art into shirts! The “Chosen Family Tee” is my favorite.
