What Are You Doing With The Gifts God Has Given You?

The Parable of The Prince and His Servants Bible Study

God has given us different measures of gifts, thoughts, or dreams so that we may multiply them in order to grow His kingdom. He doesn’t desire us to be scared and try to play it safe by minimizing our gifts or setting them completely aside. That hope and desire to make videos to spread the gospel or start a church has been planted in your heart for a reason. God gave us these desires so that His glory may shine through us.

In this passage, God represents the prince. He gives each of His servants a large sum of money to put to work before he returns. This money could represent gifts, dreams, thoughts, desires, etc. God has placed these things in our hearts to expand his kingdom before He returns.

In verse 14, we see that some of his subjects didn’t want the prince to rule. Those subjects would be the people of this world. Regardless of their disdain, the prince came back and was crowned king. No matter the backlash against Christianity, Christ will come back and rule.

After the return and crowing of the new king, he summoned his servants to see what each of them had gained with the given money. The first servant put in all of the money and ended up doubling it! The king was very pleased and gave the servant authority over 10 cities as a gift. He got way more than what he’d started with.
The second servant ended up with 50% more interest and in return got authority over 5 cities! How gracious is God!

What did the first and second servants have in common? They weren’t afraid to use what God had given them to grow it for a greater purpose. —
We should strive to be like the first servant. No matter how scary it may seem to go all in, the return is greater.
Remember: The more you put in, the more you get out.

Now comes the third servant. When the king asked this servean how much they earned, he responded with an excuse. This excuse mentioned how fearful he was and did not want to put in the work to earn interest on the money. The king got angry and ordered for his money to be given to the first servant. People complained about why the first servant should get more money since he already had so much. The king says,

‘Yes,’ replied the king, ‘But to all who have been faithful, I will give even more to them”

Luke 19:26 TPT Translation

Jesus is coming soon. You don’t want Him to come and ask you why you haven’t done anything with the things/gifts He has given you.

Ask yourself:

What gifts has God given you?
How can you use those gifts to expand God’s kingdom?
